sound
Sound is an essential part of any video so hence it shouldn't be surprising that it's vital that a trailer have a good soundtrack and different sound effects added to it. For our trailer we're going to need a sound-scape which would require creating it from scratch using different sound effects and adapting it to our animatic.
Some sounds we've gathered are thuds, drones, heartbeats, voices, music and sound effects such as creaking doors or floor boards.

Inspirations
This trailer was an inspiration because of the beginning where it starts of and there was never really a equilibrium due to the fact that it was so ephemeral. It resembles the same order of our animatic. The constant flashes at 0:19 might be where each frame is accompanied by a sound may be something I'd in my trailer. There is the music playing at 0:58 which it's a nice positive song despite danger is around. this connotes that even when you think you're safe, you are not. Which may be something I'd use in my trailer. Moreover, 1:53 has the lullaby and the tempo gets faster until it reaches silence.
What i love about this trailer is the music used near the end of the trailer and that it's almost perfect for this trailer. The song is called "Mad World" by Gary Jules. I like it particularly because of the irony of the peaceful piano playing at the start of the song despite the fact that the trailer is playing a silent montage of chaos and destruction.

This is a similar sound I have found on "freesound.org". I repeating crescendos is what I like about it because it imitates the sound of an alarm.

This trailer featured a lot of ringing noises used for distortion. Mainly in situations where the character is left confusion and unable to comprehend what has happened. this type of sound effect is mainly used when there is a massive impact whether it be a grenade or a truck ramming into someone. 0:40 is the perfect example for the kind of sound I like. the ringing noise while every else has been muffled out. there after, 0:47 has an alarm like drone with an extended ring to it. it's repeated use with a short pause in between makes it very memorable and effective in creating a sense of panic.

Sound Synthesis and Editing Software
FINAL CUT PRO
Final Cut Pro is a professional Editing software developed by Apple. I am using this software to adapt my soundtracks to my animatic as well as using other external software to compile sounds together.
While importing all the necessary sounds, i started to experiment with the different sounds i have got by adapting them to my animatic.
The latest Final cut pro automatically provides a wide range of sound effects i can use.
This is our sound scape so far.

Garage Band
Garage Band is a sound synthesis software often used coherently with a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI). the software allows you to compose a variety of sounds, from your individual sounds to your entire soundtracks. Also includes the option to create from a score.
SOUNDTRACK PRO
Soundtrack Pro is one of the sound editing software I'm trying to use to compile different sounds together.
After being happy with the first part of the sound scape, i started to fill in the gaps of the current sound scape where there isn't necessarily silence but should have some sort of sound to keep up the tension.
Adobe Audition CS6
I use Adobe Audition to quickly convert, cut and compile sounds.
At this point, I'm isolating a selection of sound so i can crop out and use.
